Tonight, I had the privilege of spending the evening with some truly amazing people at the Jun Ai event in Naha. It was one of those rare experiences that remind you of the beauty of human connection, meeting new friends, sharing genuine conversations, and witnessing a story that stirs something deep within the heart.

今夜、那覇で開催された「純愛（Jun Ai）」のイベントに参加し、本当に素晴らしい人々と過ごすことができました。新しい友人との出会い、心のこもった会話、そして心の奥深くを揺さぶる物語に触れることができた、まれで貴重なひとときでした。

The film Jun Ai, which translates to “Pure Love,” is more than just a movie. It is a message. A gentle yet powerful reminder of what the Koine Greek language calls ἀγάπη (agápē) in the Christian Scriptures, a kind of love that is selfless, unconditional, and peace-bringing.

映画『純愛』は、単なる作品ではなく、「メッセージ」です。キリスト教の聖書に使われている古代ギリシャ語（コイネー・ギリシャ語）の**ἀγάπη（アガペー）**という言葉を思い起こさせます。自己を超え、無条件に与え、平和をもたらす愛――その優しくも力強い愛の形です。

What struck me most tonight is how this truth is not limited to one culture or faith. Nearly every religion teaches the same principle: that divine love transcends self-interest, heals division, and unites humanity in peace. Whether we call it Jun Ai, Agápē, Metta, Chesed, or Karuna, it all points to one eternal reality - Love is the path to peace.

今夜特に心に残ったのは、この真理が特定の文化や信仰に限られていないということです。ほとんどすべての宗教が同じ原理を教えています――神聖な愛は自己中心を超え、分断を癒し、人類を平和の中で一つにするということです。純愛、アガペー、メッタ、ヘセド、カルナ――呼び方は違っても、行き着く先は同じ永遠の真理です。愛こそが平和への道なのです。

What makes Jun Ai truly moving is that each of the main characters lives out this kind of love not in comfort but in struggle. Their compassion, forgiveness, and quiet courage reveal that Jun Ai is not merely an emotion but a deliberate choice, one that often costs something. Through their lives, we see how love has the power to heal the deepest wounds and transform conflict into peace.

『純愛』が本当に心を動かすのは、登場人物一人ひとりがこの愛を「困難の中で」生きているからです。彼らの思いやり、赦し、そして静かな勇気は、「純愛」が感情ではなく、意識的な選択であることを教えてくれます。時には痛みを伴うその選択を通して、愛がどれほど深い傷を癒し、争いを平和へと変える力を持つのかを示しているのです。

Deep down, I believe we all long for this kind of love and are called to live it. Yet it is often easier to be harsh, defensive, or self-protective because human nature tends to turn inward. Jun Ai calls us to do the opposite, to open, to give, and to see others as part of ourselves. It is the hardest path, yet the most redemptive and healing one.

心の奥では、私たちは皆このような愛を求め、それを生きるように呼びかけられています。けれども現実には、攻撃的になったり、防御的になったり、自分を守ることに偏りがちです。人間の本性は内に閉じる傾向があるからです。純愛はその反対を示します――心を開き、与え、他者を自分の一部として見ること。最も難しい道ですが、最も癒しと救いに満ちた道なのです。

Jun Ai beautifully captures that spirit. It reminds us that even in our differences, we are bound together by something sacred, the capacity to love without condition.
